Arianna Huffington

Arianna Stassinopoulos Huffington is a Greek American author syndicated columnist and businesswoman. She founded The Huffington Post, is the founder and CEO of Thrive Global as well an author of fifteen novels. Arianna Huffington works as an writer, philanthropist and television host, and also the proprietor of The Huffington Post. Born in Greece Arianna Huffington emigrated to England with her family when she was age 16. In Cambridge University she earned a MA Degree in Economics. The first non-English student, she was elected president of The Cambridge Union' at the age of 21. As a conservative syndicated blogger when she graduated, she went on to become an influential voice for the Huffington Post. The fame of her name helped to get a number of prominent contributors to post their views on politics news and culture. Arianna rose to fame when she made the decision to stand independently during the California recall vote to succeed the Governor Davis. She was also involved in the Detroit-based initiative that advocated for fuel-efficient automobiles. In 2009, she was ranked by Forbes as the most influential women in the media, achieving 12th place on the list. The same year Guardian included her in the top 100 list of media. In 2011 AOL Inc. bought The Huffington Post and made the president of that media unit, which comprised of many at the time-current AOL properties too such as Engadget AOL music Style list as well as Patch Media. Elli is the daughter of Konstantinos Stasinopoulos, and Elli, who are both management consultants and journalists. Her life was shaped by her closeness to her mother, and the bond she shared with her father, despite her being very close to him. Even as a young girl she displayed leadership qualities which she is still renowned for. In her 16th year, she returned to the UK to study and enrolled at Girton College Cambridge. She enrolled in the Cambridge Union college debate society while in college in which she became the third and first female to be elected the president. In 1972, her master's in Economics was awarded. She was a journalist television host, and a columnist after her graduation. In addition, along with Bernard Levin she appeared on an episode of Face the music.
