Arianna Huffington
Arianna Stassinopoulos Huffington (Greek American) is a Greek American writer, syndicated-columnist and businesswoman. She was a co-founder of The Huffington Post the founder and chief executive officer of Thrive Global and the author of 15 books. Arianna Huffington is an actor, journalist as well as a philanthropist, author and journalist for more than ten years. She is also the proprietor of The Huffington Post, an independent, liberal online newsmagazine. Born in Greece Arianna Huffington emigrated to England with her family at 16 years old. At Cambridge University she earned a MA degree in Economics. As the first foreign student to serve as president of the highly regarded debate group The Cambridge Union, at age 21 she took over the presidency. A conservative syndicated blogger, after graduating she was able to be a voice of the Huffington Post. The fame of Arianna led to the recruitment of a variety of renowned contributors. Arianna first gained notoriety during 2003 when she volunteered in the California recall election to succeed Governor Davis. Apart from this she also led the Detroit project to promote the use of fuel-efficient cars. Forbes listed her 12th in their list of the Top Popular Media Women. Guardian also included the HuffingtonPost in their list of the top 100 in 2010. In 2011 AOL Inc. acquired The Huffington Post and made her the head of the media group which included many at the time-current AOL products, such as Engadget AOL music Style list and Patch Media. Elli is the child of Konstantinos who was a management and journalism consultant. Her character was formed by the closeness she had to her mother as well as her relationship with her father despite being extremely close to the latter. When she was a teen she displayed leadership qualities which she is still renowned for. At 16 years of age she emigrated to the United Kingdom to pursue her education and was enrolled at Girton College Cambridge. While in college and was in Cambridge Union, she joined the debate societies in the college and eventually was its first foreign female president. The year 1972 was the year her master's in Economics was conferred. Following after graduation she worked as an editor of the critic's column and a television host. In addition, along with Bernard Levin she appeared on an episode of Face the music.
